Out on penalties after a fightback

Round two of the County Cup against Shirebrook Soldiers Wanderers of the Chesterfield Sunday League. Codnor found themselves 4-1 down, then pulled it back to 4-4. Liam Garner scored twice, with Thomas Pegg and Alexander Shayler also on target.

There was a chance to win it late on, but a controversial offside call (with Garner in behind and two Codnor players against the keeper) left the side feeling aggrieved, after an offside for Shirebrook's fourth had been overruled moments before. Codnor scored one of their four penalties and Shirebrook went through 3-1 in the shoot-out.
